Funeral services for Germaine L. Dishaw, 88 formerly of 168 State Highway 37C Massena and currently residing at the St. Regis Nursing Home, will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Father Donald Manfred presiding. Friends and relatives may be received on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Phillips Memorial Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Dishaw passed away on January 2, 2010 at the St. Regis Nusing Home. Germaine is survived by her children, Thomas and Jeanie Dishaw, Shirley and Gary Dishaw, Gary and Linda Dishaw , Diane and Carl Montroy, and Cathy and Warren Smith all of Massena. Mary Lee and Carl Lewis of Bedford, IN. 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grand children, 4 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Rita Crevier of Mt. Hope, Ontario.
Germaine was born July 13, 1921 in Alexandria, Ontario the daughter of the lateJesip and Angela (Seguin) Brunet. She married Elwood T. Dishaw on October 26, 1914 in Alexandria Ontario by Father Paul Leclere. A life time member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, An active volunteer at Highland Nursing Home and worked bingo at St. Joseph's Church
She was predeceased by her Loving Husband, Elwood T. Dishaw on March 27, 1992, An infant granddaughter Kristy Jo Mattison, several brother and sisters. Son-in-laws, William Jawan, Paul Denesha, and Micheal Granger.
Germaine loved bingo, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, but most importantly the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the St. Regis Nursing Home activity fund in Germaine's memory.
