Cross, 92 formerly of Cline Drive and Moon Lawn Road, Troy, will be in the Spring at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Massena. Genevieve passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY. She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Lanny and Shirley Cross of Troy, NY. Two grandchildren Lisa Cross Murphy of Boston, MA and Brian A. Cross of New York City, NY. One great grandchild, James Murphy of Boston, MA. A brother in-law James Cross of Massena, and sister in-law, Ida Cross of Syracuse, and many nieces and nephews. Born on January 26, 1917 on Alumette Island, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Toner) McGuire. She married Orval Cross on September 23, 1945 at St. Columbus Rectory. Mr. Cross predeceased her on January 9, 2005. Genevieve was employed at Massena Building Supply as a bookkeeper. She also worked for a number of Massena businesses including Montgomery Wards, Marine Midland Bank and Massena Building Supply . She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many memorable times boating, fishing, snowmobiling and camping with her family and friends. She and Whitey spent their lives in Massena and visited Florida during the winter. They moved to Troy, NY in 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church in her memory.
