White age 82 of 10 Prospect Circle , Massena, NY will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald Manfred officiating the Services. Friends are invited to call at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St., Massena, NY on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Mrs. White passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Highland Nursing Home. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Carl White of Massena, NY. Son, Joseph White of Massena, NY. Daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Gregg Gates of Franklin, VT; Sue White and companion Lu Davis of Upton, MA; Peggy and Jeffrey Burnham of Milton, VT. Grandchildren, Brenna (Brooks) Sturtevant of Franklin, VT; Ashley (Devin) Bachelder of Franklin, VT; and Emma Gates of Danvers, MA. Three nieces and a nephew, David Root of Massena, NY. Rita was predeceased by three sisters and one brother. Mrs. White was born in Massena, NY on February 17, 1927 to the late Willis and Stella (LaClair) Root. She graduated High School in Massena, NY. Rita married Carl White on September 10, 1955 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Massena. Rita loved to Cook, but most importantly she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
