Obituary:
Kathleen A. LaRose, 79 of Massena passed away on February 12, 2010 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Friends and family may be received on Sunday February 14, 2010 from 4-7 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Funeral services for "Kay" will be held Monday at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Voluntary Rescue Squad. Surviving Kathleen A. LaRose are two daughters and a son: Timothy and wife Ann of Brooklyn, Mrs. Joseph (Kathleen) Duegaw of Fredericksburg, VA, Leslie A. of Westville, NY, three grandchildren: Emma, Barclay, Natasha and two great grandchildren: Christian and Trinity and her three" grand pups",Petunia, John Deere and Polo. Born in Watertown, NY May 23, 1930, the daughter of John and Nellie ( Mullen ) Shaughnessy. She married Howard "Bud" LaRose May 19, 1951 in the Holy Family rectory, Watertown, NY. He predeceased her on November 30, 2007, she was also predeceased by a brother Jack Shaughnessy and three sisters; Jane Marie Ellsworth, Margo Hooker and Helen Weideman. At one time Kay was a secretary at Shaughnessy and Werlen Knitting Mills.She was a member of the National Chapter of the VFW Auxiliary.
